A listening presence is often a healing presence...
Hospice Whispers: Promoting the Power of Presence
September 28 at 6:00 AM ·
When You Meet Someone Deep in Grief
Slip off your needs
and set them by the door.
Enter barefoot
this darkened chapel
hollowed by loss
hallowed by sorrow
its gray stone walls
and floor.
You, congregation
of one
are here to listen
not to sing.
Kneel in the back pew.
Make no sound,
let the candles
speak.

Our very own Casey Branson, Cork's Place Clinical Facilitator speaks with LoAnn Ayers of United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties about supporting children and teens through grief and loss. Thank you, United Way for all you do for our community.
United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties
September 22 at 12:45 PM ·
As part of our Campaign Kickoff Month, United Way president LoAnn Ayers is talking with local agencies providing crucial services to our community. Today, we’re focusing on mental and behavioral health support for children and teens – whether it’s due to grief from the loss of a loved one, or stress and anxiety related to COVID-19, young people need just as much – and sometimes more – help in getting through difficult circumstances. Today’s conversations feature Jessica Hoefer from the @BBoys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties talking about the teen-led “Mustangs Matter” peer support program and Casey Branson from Chaplaincy Health Care talking about the Cork’s Place grief counseling program.
In part 4, Casey and LoAnn discuss the increased need for grief counseling under COVID, and how Cork’s Place was able to transition the way they provide services.
Thank you to Legends Casino Hotel for awarding Chaplaincy Health Care a grant for our Hospice program. We appreciate your partnership as we serve the community.
Congratulations to Victor, one of our amazing hospice chaplains, for receiving the Community Leader of the Year Award from Tricities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Your care and compassion are such gifts for our patients and our community. Felicidades!

Chaplaincy Health Care staff held a flag raising ceremony today in honor of all the men and women who bravely served our country.
“Exemplary emotional care” means finding ways to provide sensitive and compassionate grief support to grieving individuals who cannot gather in person. Cork's Place and our Grief Care team created virtual support group options for those who have lost loved ones during this already difficult time.
