Dr. Akhondi has practiced in the field of internal medicine and hospital medicine for 12 years, have research background with more than 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals, years of teaching residents and medical students in Georgetown University medical system and has been an assistant professor of medicine in Georgetown. Recipient of many awards for excellence, both in medical care and research as well as humanitarian efforts.
Dr. Akhondi has graduated from medical school in one country and finished specialization in another, have practiced in different hospitals and settings; and therefore is extremely versatile. He is the representation of an era when medical education was attracting the best and producing the most trust worthy physicians whose purpose was to serve and improve human health. Era when patients were that, not customers and health care was not measured and regulated by finances. He believes patients are humans needing care, love and support.
