Grooming is pretty booked up for October. There are a few appointments available, mostly for baths with no haircut. We have a few spaces available in early November. I (Amanda the owner) have decided not to have my surgery until after the holidays. It is not urgent.
Speaking of Holidays, we book up VERY quickly around them. So you’ll want to go ahead and make those appointments ASAP.

When you arrive for drop off, please be patient with us. Most of the time we are aware you’re here, but we are helping someone else. Calling when you arrive is not usually necessary.
Anyone who arrives early may have to wait until we open or have time to come out. We open at 8 am, and we do close for lunch from 12-1 pm. During the day, the groomers are usually taking care of another dog, and require a few minutes to put that dog away.
We very much appreciate your patience, and love to see your dogs, so we will be out to help as soon as possible.

Grooming-
We are currently making a sign in sheet for grooming customers who have 8 am drop off. We don’t have a reliable way to know who was here first, so this is the purpose of signing in. More information on this to come.
Many of our customers are requesting 8 am drop off. While this is certainly ok, please be aware that if a groomer has 5 dogs come in at 8 am, wait times will be longer. Each dog takes on average 2 hours to bathe, dry, brush, and get a haircut. We have 3 bathers and 3 groomers, so there are multiple dogs here at once.
No matter what, please be assured that we are taking care of your furry family members when they are here. The grooming dogs are in the grooming room with us, and have water in their kennels. They also go out for potty breaks on a leash in our fenced in area. Thank you and stay tuned!

We’re discontinuing the sign in sheet for grooming, because it is largely unused.
From here on out, each groomer will have at most 3 spots for 8 am drop off. There are also drop off times at 11 am and 1 pm. If too many dogs come in at 8, this makes the wait time longer.
We’re doing our very best to schedule and work efficiently. Please know that we take as much time as each dog needs. Some dogs are anxious and take more time to make them comfortable. We don’t rush and it’s our aim to give every dog the best experience possible. We do have daycare available at a cost of $10 if you would like your dog to play while they wait.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Our vaccine requirements HAVE NOT changed. We have always required up to date Rabies, Distemper Parvo, and Bordetella vaccines. This is for your pet’s and all the other pets’ safety. We would not be doing our jobs as pet care professionals if we did not require this.
Your responsibility is to get these vaccines to us. You can either hand carry a paper copy or email it to us at houndstoothfiles@gmail.com. We are quite busy taking care of your pets, answering phones, giving appointment reminders, and doing curbside service. We do not have time to call or obtain these records for you. This has always been the case.
If you do not provide vaccine records, we will not provide services. Thank you so much for your cooperation!

I trust them fully and they will take wonderful care of your babies.
I also want to say thank you to all our fabulous customers! You pampered us over the holidays and we are so blessed to have you. I will see you all again on the 21st!

The majority of customers prefer to drop off in the morning, so we have decided to return to a longer drop off period of time. Grooming drop off is now from 8-9 am. We also still offer 11 am drop off for those who prefer it.

We have decided to cancel grooming for tomorrow due to the possible winter weather. Everyone who was scheduled for Monday has been rescheduled for Saturday (unless Steve talked to you and made other arrangements.)
If conditions worsen, we will not have grooming tomorrow. We will make an announcement here as soon as possible. Steve will most likely be spending the night at Houndstooth. So if you must to drop off for boarding or daycare, we can accommodate a few dogs. We do not want to endanger our customers or our employees, so if snow/ice does happen, the best idea is to stay home.
