Housing Kitsap CARES
A Housing Kitsap Resident was recently furloughed due to COVID-19 after returning to work from maternity leave. As a single mother of two she had no valid options as she struggled with bills and necessities, including her rent. CARES was able to step in and assist her during this extreme hardship.
With the assistance she has been able to continue to pay rent and was able to acquire a part time job!
We hope to continue to help more Housing Kitsap households as the year goes on and the need for assistance continues.
Check out our website for more information!

Housing Kitsap updated their business hours.
Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours.
In these stressful times a local network group brought smiles and thankfulness to the residents of Golden Tides I. The local networking group donated Holiday bags for each resident of Golden Tides I. Housing Kitsap Public Housing Manager Jackie Brown and Golden Tides II, III and Liberty Bay Property Manager Chuck Brackett delivered them to the delight of the residents on Friday, December 4, 2020. Jackie said that “Some residents didn’t understand. Some were apprehensive. Some were like small children with their eyes all lit up. One stated it would be the only gifts that he would get. In a world full of so much chaos… (She) got to give some smiles because a group of people wanted to give to others.” Housing Kitsap is so grateful for the kind heartedness of the local network group to our residents.

❄️It may be the most wonderful time of the year, but winter break and the holiday season also can bring stress and unhappiness for some — and adults are not the only ones affected. Social and emotional learning (SEL) can support your students and their families during winter break.❄️

The masks are made from 100% micro pique polyester fabric as an outer layer and 100% cotton jersey as the inner layer.
These masks are home washable (Cold wash on low tumble dry)!
These masks are not for medical use, but extra face coverage may help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and larger illness causing particles.

2021 brings a new chapter to Housing Kitsap as we say goodbye to our Executive Director on February 26, 2021. Stuart Grogan has led the agency through pivotal, character defining moments over the past six years. Although he will be missed; he leaves behind a stronger team with defined goals and a vision of hope.
As the Interim Executive Director, I am proud to serve the community alongside a committed Board and a fantastic team of individuals who share Housing Kitsap’s vision of hope for all. We will form connections and bridge gaps between communities. Together great things lie ahead for Housing Kitsap and the communities we serve.
Respectfully,
Kirsten Yunuba Stephens
