Announcement from Vik Rajan, M.D.
I am pleased to inform you that I have recently started working at Specialty Healthcare and Wellness, a multispecialty clinic where I practice integrative holistic medicine. This is in addition to the patient advocacy and health coaching I do through Houston Patient Advocacy.
I have also developed a health manual called The Algorithm of Six Method (trademark and copyright pending) which is a collection of tips and techniques designed to address the six most common causes of chronic diseases, which include problems with the following:
1. nutrition
2. exercise
3. sleep
4. stress management
5. isolation
6. environmental factors
To learn more about the Algorithm of Six Method, you can set up an appointment to see Dr. Rajan in clinic by calling 281-220-2069 or you can call Dr. Rajan directly at 281-888-2406 for one-to-one private health coaching through Houston Patient Advocacy.

True. 200,000 patients die annually from medical errors, and 2 million people are harmed annually. What they don't say is why mistakes happen. One big reason is time constraints - seeing a lot of patients with limited time per patient. Mistakes get made inevitably.
You can get a specialist for just about anything . . . a cardiologist, neurologist, pulmonologist . . .
But how about a timologist??
That's a doctor with more than 15 minutes of time to spend with you!
That's the kind of thing I can do for my clients at Houston Patient Advocacy because I can spend the time needed to make sure mistakes don't get made in their care from their providers. To learn more, visit www.houstonpatientadvocacy.com.

Medical Error is Third Biggest Cause of Death in US
Check this article out. This very well summarizes what I've been saying for years about the problems of our current medical system. There are growing number of articles I've found in the past few months that talk about this, and I felt it would be a good time to start posting some of these to inform the public about it. Feel free to share with your friends and family. Everyone has, is, or will experience these problems.
The conclusion of many of these articles is that doctors need to be able to spend more time with their patients to understand and communicate with them better. The problem is, they don't typically elaborate on how that can happen. Our medical economic system under insurance is ultimately designed to devalue a doctor's time (unless a procedure is involved), and that is not going to change anytime soon (it will actually get worse). The solution will involve individual doctors creating new private pay health systems (whether it in the form concierge medicine, private patient advocacy, or private health coaching) for patients to get the time and "art of medicine" they need from a health professional that your insurance may fail to provide.

Doctors Tell All—And It’s Far Worse Than You Think
A message from Dr. Vik Rajan - President and Founder of Houston Patient Advocacy
HPA has recently expanded to corporate. The health of a company is linked to the health of a company's leaders and employees. One of the biggest costs to businesses these days is related to chronic health problems that have both direct costs (pills, procedures, clinic visits, hospitalizations) and larger indirect costs in terms of loss of productivity.
For company owners and executives that want to improve their burden of chronic disease and the costs associated with them, HPA offers patient advocacy and health coaching services through DVK Advisory Group, which combines patient advocacy/health coaching with business consulting/coaching in leadership, communications, and business development.
To learn more online, check out DVK Advisory Group at www.dvkadvisorygroup.com.
To learn more in person, register online for one of DVK's seminars (www.dvkadvisorygroup.com/events.html), with the next one being on October 28 from 9AM ot 12PM
