A professional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete, Pedro sustained a knee injury before a major competition. He traveled to HSS, where he underwent successful surgery performed by a sports medicine surgeon. Stanley broke his scaphoid bone while playing hockey in the driveway and came to HSS after doctors at a local hospital realized the bones were misplaced upon healing. Maddy sustained a posterior knee dislocation, which severed the popliteal artery, tore through her ACL, PCL, and MCL ligaments, and created damage to the peroneal nerve. She came to HSS, where her physicians treated the ligaments and nerve damage. After 360 days, she was able to run for the first time.
