Hudsonville Physical Therapy was founded in 1994 to provide therapy services to patients in the Our Buildingsouthwest Grand Rapids region.
Our philosophy is to provide personalized and professional care to all our patients. We employ only licensed physical therapists who have ongoing training to effectively treat most orthopedic, sports, and work-related injuries, as well as women's health issues.
We commonly see patients with the following injury areas for rehab: neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, back, hip, knee, and ankle/foot. Many of these patients are recovering from a recent surgery or trying to avoid one.
Typically a patient is referred to us by his or her physician for treatment. The first visit generally consists of an evaluation, appropriate treatment, and the initiation of a home exercise program. Subsequent visits will typically include treatments such as heat/cold therapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, etc. as well as an ongoing, progressive exercise program. This may consist of flexible and strengthening exercises to allow a patient to meet the critical demands of his or her activities of daily living.
Our therapists use the latest treatment techniques in the areas of sports medicine, orthopedic functional conditioning, manual therapy techniques as well as various traditional therapy approaches, i.e., McKenzie, Maitlin, Rolfing, massage, and myofascial release.
Our patients are usually expected to participate in an active home exercise program. By combining our treatment program with the patient's active participation, we can typically progress our patients throughout the course of therapy more efficiently and effectively. This also sets good long-term habits for our patient to maintain a healthy lifestyle or manage his or her condition.
