Talk about stressful times from a small business perspective...
If you called Hughes plumbing on March 2nd to Schedule a service call I would have told you our earliest availability was March 6 for non-emergency.
March 16th the phone stops ringing I have had only two or three water emergency. Not enough to cover the overhead of this small business.
I had to lay-off my only employee. We are in the process of moving Hughes Plumbing to our new location, having to move all the tools and materials, trying to make improvements at the new shop and clean out the old.
Today I hope to be approved for a SBA loan, part of the trillion dollar relief package to cover our payroll, insurances, truck payments, and mortgage.
This is happening to so many businesses just like us everywhere. It’s amazing how quickly things can change. But just as quickly, it can get better.

This is our 4th completely clogged chimney this fall C02 is a silent killer. Older heaters don’t shut off when the chimney clogs, and new heaters safety switches can fail to work. Have your furnace and chimney checked.

, Aqua recently reported that a well in the North Hills section of Abington and Upper Dublin Township (one that supplies just that neighborhood and is separate from the sources of the rest of Abington Township's water) had a combined PFOS + PFOA level of approximately 30 PPT—while still lower than the EPA's current Health Advisory Level, that's obviously well above the level suggested by the new CDC report.
Aqua has since shut down the North Hills well and shifted North Hills customers to another water source.
