For the past 30 years, Ohio firefighters have been coming together to strut their stuff in the name of charity. The annual Hunks and Ladders fireman calendar was founded in Dayton with one purpose: to raise funds to support local charities. Every year, these shirtless men combine efforts with organization leaders to make a real difference in their communities. As their biggest annual fundraiser, the 15-page Hunks and Ladders calendar has raised thousands of dollars for those who need it most.
Hunks and Ladders operates year-round hosting special events throughout Ohio. Rivalry hockey games, the annual Combat Challenge, and calendar release pub crawls are organized every year to raise funds and awareness. All proceeds collected from events and calendar sales are split between three charity organizations: A Special Wish Foundation–Dayton Chapter, Pink Ribbon Driven, and the Firefighter/EMS Memorial Association. They have hats, t-shirts, andhoodiesto spread the love to everyone willing to contribute.
Every year, firefighters from across Ohio volunteer to help make the Hunks and Ladders calendar as great as possible. They pose for the camera while company sponsors, organization leaders, and volunteers work together to bring the project to fruition. The fireman calendar is well known throughout local communities, and it has also garnered nationwide attention. The Fire Critic included the Hunks and Ladders calendar on their list of Best Firefighter Calendars for 2017. Through their successful fundraising, the group has made significant donations to local organizations including breast cancer charities.
