The Texas ban on the sale and manufacture of smokable hemp went into effect on August 2nd. So far, at least one lawsuit has been filed to fight the ban.
To be clear, hemp (cannabis sativa having a THC content of 0.3% or less) is NOT illegal. It is no longer classified as “marijuana” under Texas law. But Texas seems determined to make it impossible for Texas hemp farmers to to fill this rapidly expanding CBD market.
