Hwang Karate of Freehold has been providing instruction in the Martial Arts since 1994. Based in the Korean art of Soo Bahk Do, students of the school learn the philosophies and techniques that have improved practitioners lives for generations. Over twenty years, Hwang Karate has aided in hundreds of children and adults throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties. The school's instructor, Keith Hahn, has been studying the Martial Arts for twenty one years and has been the sole instructor for the last 11 years. Our students train both the mind and the body to be strong, quick and able to handle any situation. Students of our school will learn techniques and philosophies that will help them in the event of self-defense. As training progresses members will be instructed in the striking arts using kicking and punching as well as grappling arts utilizing throws and joint locks. The school curriculum also incorporates breathing, meditation and flexibility training to help improve body mechanics and physical ability in other activities such as exercise and strength training as well as any sport at any level. The ideals learned in class can be directly applied to everyday life and will improve the individual?s health and quality of life.
