Dr. Hyunah Poa is a primary care physician who practices in Palos Verdes. She is board certified in internal medicine, and enjoys teaching medical students, residents and patients about health maintenance.
Dr. Poa grew up in the Midwest and received her medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She then completed her internal medicine residency at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
After her residency, Dr. Poa moved to California with her husband, Dr. Li Poa. She joined the UCLA faculty in 1994, and worked at the Iris Cantor-UCLA Women's Health Center until 2000. She then worked part-time in northern California, and later helped start the Stamford Hospital Center for Integrative Medicine and Wellness, serving as director of women's health from 2007 to 2009.
In her free time, Dr. Poa takes kickboxing classes with her husband, practices yoga and plays tennis. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, five children, extended family and friends.
