Today is #WorldRhinoDay! iLAB goes beyond corporate purpose to support Elephants, Rhinos & People (ERP) because Africa is now tragically losing around 4 elephants per hour and 5 rhinos per day, a problem largely created by poverty. The weekend flies by so quickly sometimes! It’s easy to get down and flustered about your busy week ahead so here are some tips to make sure your Monday is a productive one:
- Get a good night's rest so you can wake up energized and ready to take on the day.
- Eat a balanced breakfast before jumping into work, no one can focus with a loud stomach!
- Make a to-do list and plan your week ahead. You’ll thank yourself on Tuesday morning.
- Write down your goals pertaining to both your work and personal life.
- Your brain needs a break as much as your body. Take a mental break and unplug when needed. Listen to your favorite song, send a coworker a positive note regarding their hard work, or spend some time doing your favorite hobby!
- Don’t forget to get up and move. Go for a walk, do some yoga, chase your kid around who got into the snack pantry when you weren’t looking. Anything to get that blood flowing!

On Hertigate Day, iLAB and Got-Game implemented a new WeCode Acadmemy at Kagiso Mall.
•
This Academy comprises of a fully-fledge IT Hub, with the capacity to teach 21 learners from the ages of 5 to 12 years old to code and translate that code into moving robots!
•
In the future we will offer regular courses at no charge to the students from the surrounding Kagiso area.
•
iLAB, groupelephant.com, and EPI-USE were present at the launch to volunteer and motivate the students about the importance of coding and a career within ICT.

2020 Recap! Coding at the Vaalwater Centre
A We Code Marty Robotical Programme was introduced, during the course of 2020, in spite of disruptions caused by Covid19. This benefitted 16 high school students who accessed the programme at the Vaalwater Centre. The students, ranging between the ages of 13-17 from Leseding and Meetsehehla High School, joined the programme designed to unlock potential coding and programming skills to benefit them in the future. Equipping young students with these skills at a young age prepares them for a technologically advanced world. A heartfelt thanks to Epi-Use,Nokia, iLAB and Africas Got Game in partnership with the We Code Academy.
