JUNE 29, 2020 -
Hello Indian Crest Pediatrics Families!
We want to thank you for being flexible and understanding as we adjust office protocols to keep families as safe as possible during this unprecedented pandemic.
Current guidance encourages Coloradans' access to necessary healthcare visits. These necessary visits include regular checkups to track healthy growth and development and routine immunization visits to protect children and prevent outbreaks of vaccine-preventable disease.
Your family’s health and safety is our primary concern! We want to make you aware of our new office protocols and additional safety precautions.
We are continuing to schedule well patients for checkups and follow-up appointments in the morning and early afternoon for most providers. We have one provider a day who is seeing sick patients throughout the day. These patients are seen in exam rooms at the back of the office and are brought in through the back door. Wait times in our waiting room are minimal, however, we understand that you may wish to limit your time in the office. We are offering the option of having you call when you are in the parking lot to complete check-in and ensure that we have an exam room available for you as soon as you enter the office. In addition to separate healthy/sick hours based on provider, we have telehealth, where applicable, enhanced disinfecting, screening of staff, and staff will wear personal protective equipment. We do ask that you limit who is attending the visit to 1 adult, if possible. Anyone over the age of 2 must wear a mask while in our office. If you prefer not to wear a mask at this time, we will reschedule your appointment. If you or your child are ill, we do ask that you reschedule your well care appointment or schedule a sick appointment if needed. Parents/caregivers will need to compete a symptom screening questionnaire and will have their temperature checked upon arrival to the office. If you are here for a well visit, those with a fever of 100.4 or greater and/or a positive symptom screen will be asked to leave the office and we will call you at a later time to reschedule your well visit appointment.
We offer COVID-19 acute infection testing if indicated. While we do have the ability to order COVID-19 antibody testing via blood draw, however, we recommend waiting until a more accurate antibody test becomes available and more clear guidelines are in place from the CDC regarding the results of antibody tests.
Please know that these measures are in line with current guidance from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, American Academy of Pediatrics, and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. We are confident that the policies discussed above will help to maintain the best health environment for your family and all of our patients.
Thank you,
Indian Crest Pediatrics
