HP announces updates that will render your original HP or our alternative cartridges useless.
Click https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06706633 to see if your printer is included in Anti-Consumer action.
We advise everyone to stop receiving HP updates, this may stop HP from forcing you to replace your cartridges.
How do I turn off firmware update on my HP printer?
Disabling automatic HP firmware updates via the HP Smart app
Click the printer image on the home screen.
Click Advanced Settings.
Click Tools.
Click Printer Updates and click Firmware Updates.
Select “Do not check for updates” and click Apply.
To change the automatic update settings it is suggested to perform the following steps:
Open Web Services (open internet web browser and type in the printer's IP address, i.e. 192.168.x.xx for example)
Open the Settings screen.
Select Printer Update.
Select Auto Update. Select the On or Off option (Off to disable)

Last Month my son took my HP printer to Charlie at Incredible Ink. It had not worked in months. Charlie was able to diagnose the problem and had the HP ink Cartridges in stick.
Last week my friends HP Photo Envy printer stopped responding to his PC but worked wirelessly with my iPad and iPhone.
My friend is not technical and was not happy his $200 printer stopped working after 18 months.
After talking with Charlie he recommended we try wiring with a USB wire which he sold me for $10... a few dollars cheaper than Amazon. I installed the USB wire. I ended up deleting 3 versions of the printer left over from other people “helping” my friend with this printer problem. Found out it the computer was missing a driver. I installed the driver and finally Re-added the printer as a wired and wireless device.
Charlie offered to have his tech support guy to remotely troubleshoot the PC we needed the help.
