As an orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, Dr. Steven Gorin, DO, is passionate about helping his patients of all ages at the Institute of Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics maintain active and healthy lives. To this end, Dr. Gorin offers the latest therapies and surgical techniques to his patients in the North Miami, Florida, community.
An avid sports enthusiast, Dr. Gorin’s goal is to help his patients recover from shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle injuries and get back to their pre-injury level of activity.
Dr. Gorin began his higher education at Sargent College at Boston University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in human physiology in 1994. He went on to earn a master’s degree in sports medicine from the University of Miami in 1996 and his doctor of osteopathic medicine, or DO, from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2000.
For his training, Dr. Gorin completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery in 2005 at the Medical Center of Independence in Independence, Missouri. Not stopping there, Dr. Gorin received a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine and stem cell therapies.
Dr. Gorin is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and he’s an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Osteopathic Association of Orthopaedics, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
Dr. Gorin has served as a physician for many athletic teams and clubs and he’s a sports medicine practitioner for USA Soccer Youth.
To better serve the North Miami community, Dr. Gorin is bilingual in Spanish.
