Roof trusses are lifted onto a Habitat for Humanity of Findlay/Hancock County home this morning, with help from a crane donated by Northwest Ohio Crane Service of McComb.
Habitat construction/repair manager Steve Gibbs explained the house at 831 Putnam St. had been condemned by the city and was scheduled to be torn down. Instead, crews from Habitat spent three weeks gutting the inside of the home. By the time the nine-person family receives keys to the home about mid-June, all of the structure's wiring, siding and mechanicals will be brand new.
This is the local Habitat chapter’s 44th home build and will require up to 500 volunteers. Shown setting the trusses are crews from Integrity Contracting and Consulting of Findlay.
