This week our students are working on Dreams and Goals for their Project-Based Learning assignment.
🌟They're writing about their personal dreams and goals as well as hope and dreams for their families.
🌟They’re being specific about their purpose, benefits in creating these goals, and also an action plan.
The lion is ISSAC’s symbol of strength and courage, and we’re so grateful for this painting bought by one of our parents as a gift.
🦁 It will be in Ewan’s room for now until the school opens.
🦁 It’s a print from an original painted by an UK artist named Steven Brown.
At ISSAC we group students flexibly throughout the year in order to ensure students are in the best environment to reach their next goals.
✨As a team, the ISSAC faculty consider and discuss each student’s strengths and areas for growth.
✨ISSAC's balanced approach to modern education ensures students excel:
in academics
in language and cultural exchange
in self-development and community building
We are committed to offering all families this innovative, tuition-free choice for their children to learn, achieve and be supported as future leaders in society.

We love to receive feedback from our parents. It’s our greatest joy to know that parents are grateful for our school.
✨”ISSAC is an awesome school! Great teachers, curriculum, and overall mission! Dr Padmini's direction, leadership and vision are well translated into day to day lessons and activities across the different grades.
✨ISSAC is growing rapidly and almost tripled in size since last year. The new location in Costa Mesa provides the required safe environment for a school, as well as diverse learning classrooms and a full indoor basketball court for sports related activities.
✨Though ISSAC is only starting its second year as the only charter school in the Newport-Mesa school district, it is getting a lot of attention from the community and in-district and out-of-district families looking for a challenging and trilingual environment for their little ones. Thank you ISSAC and best of luck!

Five Star Rating.
Today at ISSAC, Josei, a kindergartener, is practicing long division with manipulatives.
To better serve both our on-campus students and distance learning students, we provide a guide for our synchronous & asynchronous Mandarin learning schedule and plan.
We also post videos on our ISSAC Charter YouTube channel to support our lions in all the ways we can!
We love to see Vision Boards coming in from our students. Ethan shared his first Project-Based Learning assignment — his personal dreams and goals as well as hope and dreams for his family.
“Teachable Moments” with Ms. Padmini and Ms.Xin.
Today we’re counting to ten by matching numerals with quantities. If you’d like to see more, please visit our ISSAC Charter YouTube channel.
DREAMS & GOALS VISION BOARDS DISPLAY
✨Dreams and Goals is the focus of our first Project-Based Learning assignment.
✨Today students are bringing in their vision boards and sharing their personal dreams and goals as well as hope and dreams for their families.
We are thrilled to receive this generous donation, a portable ISSAC remote teaching and learning station donated by ISSAC parents Thu and Vu Nguyen.
💻 This is exactly what we needed for videos, zoom, communication and teachable moments. We can even record podcasts. It will help to set the next standard for online learning and education.
We now have:
✨Professional lighting
✨Professional document camera
✨Face camera
✨Mic on a boom for podcasts, too.
✨Extended touch screen for zoom sharing.
The computer was put together component by component and donated by our friend, Rajiv. He customer designed the processors, components, and the ports for exactly what me need.
We are so grateful. 🙏🏽
On our ISSAC Charter YouTube channel, students can work on their Mandarin skills using Ms. Xin's Doman card videos. 中文
The Doman cards, inspired by Glenn Doman's theory that you can teach children absolutely anything that can be presented in an honest, factual, and joyous way.
We're proud of the great effort the lions have made to learn Mandarin. To award them, we will have a treasure box for students who win a prize to pick up a treasure in the office.
Our students are concerned about waste and the environment. They’re researching what it takes to set up a recycling center. Stay tuned to find out what they come up with at ISSAC. ♻️
Staying active, healthy, and fit is so important, now more than ever.
We’re so grateful to have access to this newly renovated gym at our new location for our daily movement classes.
We are thankful to open our school back up one day a week for each class for in-person learning at our beautiful new campus.
To better serve both our on campus students and distance learning students the students are on a specific schedule of one full day a week, with social distancing and minimize potential exposure and risk.
We realize that this situation has put a huge burden on students and their families, and we are filled with appreciation for all the efforts you have undertaken for the sake of your students.
We're offering a way to support your child's education during these times.

Environment project submissions have begun trickling in this week and they are phenomenal !
🌳 We are incredibly impressed by the knowledge and insight students are showing at the end of this project.
👏Thank you to the students, families, and teachers for all of the incredible work and support you have shown our Lions in their environmental investigations. We are building socially conscious leaders one day at time!
🌳Here are two examples from Nathan Ning and Spencer Ning.
Students have begun the investigative work on their environment projects.
🍃We hope the end results are projects that reveal the beauty and the individual and collective benefits of our natural environment.
🍃Students will also see how the environmental forces are interconnected through cause-effect relationships, and how we can take new actions to care for the environment.
🍃 We hope our students will begin to see how the moment an action is taken, the effect of that action has simultaneously come into being, even though that result may become visible much later.
🍃 Specific investigations include: personal carbon footprint; animals and the support of their life, being open to nature and life all around us, recycling campaign, etc.

Ms. Xin shares her Doman Cards on the ISSAC YouTube page so that students can practice anytime. At ISSAC, we offer trilingualism in English, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.
✨Learning a second language is an important endeavor, it offers enhanced educational opportunities and translates into better academic performance across a range of subjects.
✨We know that breaking down language barriers strengthens our ties to other cultures and other countries.

We love receiving feedback from our parents about their experience at ISSAC.
“Enrolling my son at ISSAC has been the best decision we have ever made not only for his academic improvement but his emotional well-being.
Last year my son was a victim of bullying and struggled a lot in order to stand up for himself and overcome the issue.
Unfortunately, the school he was attending didn't provide any help or support instead they downplayed the bullying problem.
I was referred by friends to ISSAC and I cannot describe how thankful I am now.
My son enjoys attending the classes, there is so much dynamic, enthusiasm and personal attention provided to all the students.
The teachers are fully devoted to the kids. Having Mandarin and Spanish classes is extremely beneficial and enjoyable.
Science and Social Studies prepare the kids to the world we are living in. The subjects are taught online along with manipulatives, paper packets to complete and sensory materials to help build confidence and cognitive skills. ISSAC is the place to be.”
