Ivan Wong, MD is a New York native who grew up in Flushing, Queens. Being the son of a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, he was immersed into the world of medicine at an early age. He dreamed that one day he would serve his community as his father did. He dreamed that one day he would serve his community as his father did. He obtained his bachelor's degree at Stony Brook University and received his medical degree from Saint Matthew's University School of Medicine in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital where he served an additional year as chief resident and staff attending physician. He completed fellowship training in pulmonary an critical care medicine also at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Chest Physicians and American Thoracic Society and is the author/co-author to numerous peer-reviewed publications in the areas of pulmonary and critical care medicine. Dr. Wong is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine. He has particular interests in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and lung cancer.
