If you are injured at work you are not required to go to the doctor your employer and their insurance company say. You can choose your own doctor as long as the doctor accepts worker's compensation insurance. That goes for all aspects of treatment from beginning til end.
Always seek the advice of an attorney when you are injured at work. Yet another new client who believed the insurance company was working on their behalf, however, the claim was never filed as required. The result is a delay in the benefits the injured worker is entitled to receive.
if you're involved in an auto accident and have PIP(personal injury protection) benefits they can be used to pay for your medical treatment or lost wages. The choice is yours. Medical providers have been telling people health insurance does not cover treatment related to an auto accident. That is simply not true. Medical providers prefer to collect from PIP because it pays at a higher rate than health insurance. If you allow the medical providers to collect from your PIP benefits rather than health insurance you will not have the PIP benefits available for lost wages. Bottom line...if you have health insurance insist that it be used to pay for any treatment you receive as a result of an accident.
