At his private practice in Port Townsend, Washington, J. Kimber Rotchford, MD, provides an integrative approach to pain management and addiction. Dr. Rotchford is board-certified in addiction medicine and general preventive medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, and a long-standing specialist in Pain Management. He has studied with leaders in conventional and Eastern medicine, which enables him to create multidisciplinary treatment plans to address each patient's individual needs.
Dr. Rotchford earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle. At the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Medicine, he completed additional training in acupuncture for physicians. Dr. Rotchford also graduated with a Master of Public Health from the University of Washington School of Public Health. He is a fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine.
At his practice, Dr. Rotchford considers his patients' individual needs and lifestyle to best deliver comprehensive and integrative care. He is focused on improving the well-being, functioning, as well as the length of life of his patients. He is one of the few physicians in the United States with extensive experience and clinical expertise in helping patients recover from substance use disorders and complex pain problems. He believes in providing treatment to improve brain function and overall health, which helps patients best recover who have addictive disorders and pain management needs.
During his 40 years of medical practice, Dr. Rotchford has continued to research and publish articles in a number of professional publications. He has also taught continued medical education to colleagues and other professionals. Not only is he a fellow of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
