Jacques Flower Shop, Inc. has been a family-run business since its inception in 1910. For 100 years the Jacques/Lagasse family, and currently the Godbout/Lindh family, have provided the Greater Manchester, NH Area with beautiful fresh flowers, plants and more!
Jacques was founded as a greenhouse operation in 1910 by O. Roaul Jacques and his daughter, Colombe. Colombe wanted to add a floral shop to their business, so with her father's permission, she rode the train to Boston each day to attend floral design school. She was certainly a pioneer of her time! She put off marriage and family to dedicate her time and energy to making her flower shop a success - even making deliveries on her bicycle during the Great Depression! Eventually, Colombe married, and she and her husband moved the flower shop to its landmark location at the Amoskeag Rotary. It was she who operated the business for nearly 50 years!
In 1974, after the birth of their second child, Paul Godbout went to Jacques to buy flowers for his wife, Nancy. Upon learning the shop was for sale, he and Nancy decided to purchase the small but promising business. Over the years, they have worked very hard to make Jacques the success that it is today. Their children, Aimee, Paul III, and Adam have grown up working in the business, Aimee becoming the corporate president in 1991. Nancy and Adam have become widely recognized for their television and radio commercials promoting Jacques, while Paul Jr stays behind the scenes writing many of the popular ads.
In their more than 35 years in the floral industry, Paul and Nancy have utilized certain philosophies that have helped Jacques grow into the success it is today. Above all, we are a service and community-oriented business. Nothing is more important to us then delighting our customers with the highest quality products, properly cared for, professionally and tastefully designed, and efficiently delivered. We also believe in giving back to our community. Over the years, Jacques has made positive contributions in many, many ways. Over the years, Jacques has sponsored local youth sports teams, supported fund-raisers of all kinds through products and services, given free tours and workshops in-house to school and youth groups, gone into the community to give free demonstrations to schools, garden and senior groups, libraries and more! We've participated in Good Neighbor Days and even hold our own special days.
Twice a year Jacques holds a special day just for kids with all kinds of free activities and games planned. Our Jacques Family is passionate about sharing the beauty of our industry with everyone!
While Jacques has had as many as 4 shops at one time, we currently have one location at 712 Mast Road, in the Goffstown section of Manchester. We are a Top 100 FTD Florist, delivering locally and worldwide. We have a very skilled design team, and facilitate about 150 weddings per year. We are looking forward to servicing your floral needs in this, our centennial year!
