Public attitudes and behaviors have shifted due to COVID-19 and new research that polled residents of Los Angeles and New York City have shown most are in support of the measures in place. Interestingly there also seems to be an association between perception of risk and agreeance with public health regulations and non-essential business closures. Younger adults reported feeling safer without community mitigation strategies than those aged ≥65 years, which shows how perceived risk for infection and severe disease is different for older vs younger individuals. Some good news from FOX59 News San Diego county has been removed from the state's COVID-19 monitoring list.
We are now seeing a downward trend in positive COVID-19 test results.
Now that we are off the 'Watch List', if there are no more spikes in cases for 14 days in a row schools could theoretically start opening and have in-person classes.
Stay safe San Diego!

As San Diego County exits state watch list, local school districts weigh reopening campuses
This has been a big case to follow in our San Diego community. The San Diego Police Department has announced after an extensive 6-month investigation that there will be no charges laid in the death of San Diego State University student Dylan Hernandez, who died after falling from his dorm room bunk bed after reportedly attending a Phi Gama Delta fraternity event on San Diego State University campus. SDSU will now commence its own investigation and administrative review process.
My heart goes out to Dylan's family. May all details of this unfortunate event be uncovered. This case also highlights how crucial witness accounts are to laying criminal charges. In this case, no witnesses came forward to provide any insight to police, which makes the investigations lengthier and less clear in terms of direction to take based on the lines of evidence available to investigators.
