James Chen, MD
A fellowship-trained Sports Medicine, Knee, and Shoulder surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques, Dr. Chen:-Earned Board Certification in both Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine-Completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine, Shoulder, and Arthroscopy at UCSF.-Completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at University of Hawaii Queens Medical Center where he worked with the University of Hawaii Football team and Kamehameha Schools athletics.-Earned his masters degree at the University of California Berkeley and medical degree from the University of California Davis.-Graduated from Swarthmore College with his bachelor's in biology (captain of the soccer team)-Raised in Sacramento, California where he played soccer at Jesuit High School and for the Olympic Development ProgramDr. Chen is an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF. He is the physician for several local teams. He is the team physician for San Francisco City Football Club.
