James C. Thomas, M.D., is an associate professor of internal medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. He received his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed his internal medicine training at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, Texas. Over the last 30 years, he has been active in the internal medicine practice and teaching medical residents and students. He is co-director of the MUSC cholesterol center. His research interests are cholesterol, atherosclerosis, hypertension, strokes, and diabetes. He has written numerous research papers and is active in teaching programs and giving presentations on these topics.
