About Dr. Crutcher
James Crutcher Jr., MD, is a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon at Orthopedic Physician Associates in Seattle, Washington, which is a division of Proliance Surgeons Inc. He provides a personalized approach
to health care by working closely with all of his patients.
Dr. Crutcher specializes in joint replacement surgery. These surgeries include total hip and knee replacements, minimally invasive hip and knee surgery, partial knee replacements, revision joint replacement surgery, knee arthroscopy, and hip arthroscopy.
Dr. Crutcher completed his undergraduate degree at Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. He went on to graduate from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle.
After medical school, Dr. Crutcher completed his residency at the University of Washington Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. He pursued his fellowship at the Institute for Bone and Joint Disorders in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Crutcher returned to the State of Washington once he completed his medical training. He was a physician at Orthopedic Physician Associates in Seattle for over 29 years.
From 2004-08, he served as the chief of the Department of Orthopedics at Seattle’s Swedish Medical Center. As chief, Dr. Crutcher assisted in developing the Swedish Orthopedic Institute — now the most renowned orthopedic facility in the northwestern United States.
In his free time, Dr. Crutcher enjoys taking advantage of all of the outdoor activities that the Northwest has to offer, including hiking, skiing, and cycling.
