Dr. Bishop's goal as a physician is to develop caring and supportive relationships with her patients through learning about their histories and families, listening and paying attention to their concerns and questions, developing mutually accepted evaluation and treatment plans and maintaining contact with referral specialists. Helping patients understand and being involves in their own care is very important to her. Her background includes work with the Indian Health Service on a reservation in rural California, serving as county public health officer in two California counties, working as medical director in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, and private medical practice in California and Washington. She also volunteers for short-term medical work in developing countries.
