Continuing his journey of education and participation in all things baby-related, Jason completed the DONA Doula training through the Bastyr University Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations in 2018. Above all else, he believes that his most important role as a doula is to ensure that the birth is as positive and joyful an experience as possible, and vital to this responsibility is making certain that his clients feel comfortable, cared for, heard, and respected. With the knowledge of both a childbirth educator and certified yoga instructor, he possesses not only a breadth of understanding of physiology and anatomy, but also mindfulness-based physical support & adjustment, meditation, and breath work techniques, all of which can prove highly effective and invaluable during labor and delivery. Additionally, Jason is excited by the recognition that we’re in a particularly beautiful and important moment in time wherein non-birthing partners - particularly new dads - are genuinely yearning to be more involved and invested in the entire pregnancy and birthing process. He feels privileged to be in a position to help partners feel empowered in this role, not only for the tremendous support it affords the pregnant parent and baby, but more broadly, because he believes that the world is in great need of more men who are strong and confident enough to be vulnerable, sensitive, tender, and compassionate.
