Here it comes❄️❄️❄️...not to sea level yet, but sticking snow was reported down to about 3,000' on the Glenn Highway this morning near the Eureka Lodge.
Temperatures dropped to the 30s across much of Southcentral. The coldest spot in the state was Marshall, where they started out at 28° this morning. Anchorage was the warm spot in the state at 61°.

Snow is on the way for Southcentral Alaska!
Winter weather advisories have been issued for the Anchorage Bowl, Mat-Valley, and Susitna Valley from this evening through Monday morning.
Rain will develop this afternoon, then become mixed with snow by the early evening hours before changing to all snow sometime this evening. The changeover to all snow will occur earlier along the mountains, including the Anchorage Hillside. The heaviest snow is expected overnight through the Monday morning rush hour. Snow totals will depend heavily on when the changeover to snow occurs.

A change to the pattern will bring back some of the coldest temperatures to parts of Southcentral since at least the beginning of the year. Arctic air will arrive from the northwest by Sunday, with temperatures dipping down to several degrees below 0°F across the Anchorage area by early Monday morning and again early Tuesday morning. We’re expecting even colder temperatures down to as low as -20°F for about the same timeframe up across parts of the Susitna Valley and Copper River Basin. We should see a warming trend by the middle of next week.
Be sure to dress warmly for the very cold temperatures and wind chills. If you plan to be outdoors for extended periods of time, consider layers of clothing! For the latest forecast updates, visit us at weather.gov/Anchorage.

Are you ready for more snow? More is on the way for Southcentral late Wednesday night through Thursday. There is an unusually high amount of uncertainty regarding exact snowfall amounts. A general accumulation of 3-6 inches is expected; however, a narrow band of snow is expected to develop and areas underneath this band could see up to 8-10 inches.
