Traditional dentistry has consisted of looking for dental disease in your mouth and fixing it. For example, you have a cavity so we place a filling or other type of restoration – or – your mouth exhibits gum disease (gums that bleed and/or receding bone due to chronic bacterial infection) – or – you need to replace missing teeth. Complete Health Dentistry has evolved because over the recent years links have been found between what goes on in your mouth and what diseases occur in the rest of your body. Some of the links found have been with heart disease, strokes, problem pregnancies, cancers, Alzheimers and longevity.
We approach your treatment needs by first finding out what is going on in your general health as well as those of your ancestors’ and siblings’ histories of health and dental problems. We will now have an idea of what things occurring in your mouth are truly significant. We educate you about what studies done by prestigious entities such as Harvard Medical School and the Mayo Clinic mean to you specifically. Our office is equipped with technological advances such as digital x-rays, intraoral camera, CEREC® technology and dental laser – all of which help enhance patient care.
For your comfort: We desire to make your dental appointment as comfortable as possible. During your dental treatment, upon request, we can provide neck pillows, blankets and music of your choice to enhance your comfort.
