My store has been in Friendswood Texas, on FM 2351 right next to Clearbrook High School, for 21 years. One of my principal struggles has always been to let people know what my store is truly about. Jennifer Shuff, a Revlocal representative, has effectively helped me utilize a mix of Google, Instagram, Facebook and Constantcontact to do just that. She has a BA in marketing, and a MBA. I am learning cost effective ways of connecting with an ever enlarging customer base. I can share humor, philosophy, store news, sales and events. Jem Books has been in business in Friendswood for over 20 years. Young Alex’s father, now graduating from Yale Law School and getting ready to clerk at the Texas Supreme Court, has along with his family been customers from early high school on. I think of it as one of the joys of my chosen field to be a hub for forming minds. This family of readers are eclectic, creative and joyful. When you look at Alex you see all those qualities.
