Jennifer Garza, MD, graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed her residencies of general surgery at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Conn., a program affiliated with Yale University School of Medicine, as well as St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. where she was also Administrative Chief Resident. Dr. Garza did two years of research at Children's Hospital Boston (Harvard), where she participated in the development of a new technique for bowel lengthening and helped develop a new formulation for feeding children by vein who are not able to eat by mouth. Most recently, she completed her pediatric surgery fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. Dr. Garza earned the accolade of Resident of the Year at St. Louis University Hospital and Resident Teacher Award (by vote of fellow medical students) at St. Mary's Hospital.
