Dr. McQuade specializes in surgery for colon cancer, rectal cancer, diverticular disease, and hemorrhoids. She is skilled at robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery, surgical management of diverticular disease, and colonoscopies.
Dr. McQuade was the first physician in Erie County to perform robotic transanal surgery, which used the most advanced technologies for more complete removal of rectal tumors or polyps and changed a major operation to an outpatient procedure. She is the only surgeon in Erie County currently doing intracorporeal anastomosis, which is a cutting-edge surgical technique to restore intestinal continuity after colon and rectal surgery.
She earned her medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine – Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed a general surgery residency at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. She received additional training through a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Edison, NJ.
Dr. McQuade became the first doctor to perform robotic colon and rectal surgery at Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, VA, in 2010 and now has ten years of experience in robotic surgery. She has published research in scientific journals and made presentations at medical conferences.
