Dr. Jessica Hund is now accepting new patients at Daniel Island Primary Care! Originally from the Lowcountry, she has been educated, trained and practiced locally. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology with an interest in Behavioral Medicine from Clemson University. She then went on to complete medical school and residency training at MUSC. Dr. Hund is board certified in Family Medicine and has practiced in both hospital and outpatient settings.
Dr. Hund’s approach to medicine centers around the physical, mental and social wellness of patients in a holistic manner. She cares for a range of populations, from newborns to older adults. Her specific interests include preventative and exercise medicine, behavioral and mental health, adolescent medicine, routine gynecologic services and geriatrics. She also provides procedural services including IUD and Nexplanon insertion/removal, laceration repairs, and skin lesion removal.
An emphasis on preventative medicine allows Dr. Hund to provide the best proactive care to her patients. She aims to develop strong relationships with my patients, getting to understand motivating factors, social influences, and to provide education to work in a shared decision-making process. Dr. Hund enjoys management of chronic illnesses including hypertension, diabetes, kidney disease, lung disease, cardiovascular disease, and cognitive disorders. Her goal is for optimal control and monitoring to minimize comorbidities and further complications.
