As we begin preparing to celebrate the High Holidays and Sukkot we reflect on tzedakah, the obligation to provide for those less fortunate. With COVID-19 vaccinations underway many holocaust survivors were struggling to navigate and book online appointments. As a community we came together to assist those who needed our services. Together, the partnership of the #PhoenixHolocaustAssociation, JFCS, and ADHS has scheduled more than 40 survivors for vaccines, plus appointments for non-survivor spouses and their caregivers. Numerous volunteers have given generously of their time to help with transportation to the State Farm Stadium.

It truly takes a village and we are so grateful! We had a great response from the Purim Carnival yesterday at #MartinPearJCC! Those who attended the drive-through Purim parade kindly donated canned food to our Just 3 Things Food Pantry! The Just 3 Things Food Pantry goes to assist teens who are aging out of the foster care system and are in transitioning programs. These donations will help those we serve! We want to say thank you martinpearjcc ,thank you to Karen Abrams, and thank you to those who participated and donated!

JFCS is proud to receive a $10,000 grant award for our #RealWorldJobDevelopment from azcentral, Season for Sharing! The Real World Job Development started in 2006, and over the last 15 years have helped countless teens between the ages of 16 and 24 learn how to apply their knowledge and skills to find gainful employment. Participants in this program have gone on to find work in schools, hospitals, veterinary clinics, small businesses, and more. Many foster care youth enrolled in this program manage to achieve their educational and/or employment goals.
Thank you, again to #AZCentral, #TheArizonaRepublic and Season for Sharing for helping JFCS' Real World Job Development, and most importantly for cultivating the youth of tomorrow! Together we continue to heal lives, whatever it takes.
