Joanne Mazzio, CNM, NP, MS, is a certifiednurse midwife specializing in gynecology atNewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group HudsonValley. Dedicated to a personalized and holisticmodel of care, Joanne provides safe andcompassionate midwifery services for womenof all ages. She has worked in the Hudson Valleycommunity for more than two decades.Joanne graduated magna cum laude with abachelor of science in nursing from LehmanCollege of The City University of New York,where her initial interest in women’s health careand midwifery was sparked. After working as apublic health nurse in her home community ofthe Bronx, she worked at a high-risk maternityunit. There, she gained the experience and skillsthat would serve as a foundation for her careeras a midwife.Joanne graduated with honors from theMidwifery Education Program at the Universityof Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey andlater completed her master’s in midwifery atDownstate University. Joanne initially workedin a hospital setting where she headed theadolescent prenatal program and providedcare to underserved women and teens inchildbirth. After seven years, she went on to joina private practice providing full scope midwiferycare, including both well woman gynecologyand obstetrical care to women of theHudson Valley.
