After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in education from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Jody was drawn to the professional world and worked in the human resource management field for several years. Having family in Florida, she found herself visiting often, drawn to the warm weather and Florida lifestyle. Jody decided to permanently move in 2009, eventually residing in Venice and pursuing her dream of a career in real estate. Although born and raised in a small town in the south, she has lived in various locations and experienced many real estate markets. Jody understands that one thing always remains the same whether buying or selling a home in southern Illinois or near the sunny beaches of Florida, it is a complex process and can be stressful. She focuses on making the transition as smooth and stress-free as possible. Jody prides herself on being proactive, professional, confidential and involved in the entire process from beginning to end. Educating and caring for customers looking to buy or sell real estate comes naturally to her. Jody specializes in helping people making a local move, selling their current home and purchasing another, but loves working with first-time buyers as well. While the process can be stressful, she focuses on making the transition enjoyable and rewarding by getting to know her clients and meeting their needs. Jody joined Premier Sotheby’s International Realty in 2017 with one goal in mind, to better serve her clients using the latest technology, but understanding that “old-fashioned” values like professionalism and morals still matter to people. During a transaction as emotionally and financially important as buying or selling a home, the person who holds your hand during the process needs to be an expert but also genuinely care about you and your family’s best interest. In her free time, she enjoys the opportunities surrounding Venice and Sarasota County by participating in 5K races, spending time at the beach and being an active member of the Venice Chamber of Commerce. Jody also volunteers and serves on several local committees that serve Venice and surrounding communities, including fundraising for the Venice High School baseball team and local nonprofits such as Grace Methodist Preschool and the YMCA. She considers herself fortunate to share all of this with her husband Jeff, their daughter Easton and their son Clayton.
