The Federal Housing Finance Agency has instructed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to delay implementing their Adverse Market Refinance Fee until December 1, 2020. That means you now have three additional months to get the best terms when you refinance your government loan! As an additional benefit to lower-income borrowers and first-time homeowners, the fee will not apply to loans with balances below $125,000 or loans made through the HomeReady and Home Possible affordable refinance programs.
