"Where flowers bloom, so does hope."💙
Sue Quinn is next up on our #GardeningSeries, and Sue has some beautiful potted plants as well as a unique way of growing seeds!
Sue has started growing seeds in a plastic bag next to a windowsill. If you're looking for a fun science experiment, check out how to grow seeds in a bag just like Sue here: https://www.scholastic.com/parents/school-success/learning-toolkit-blog/germinate-seeds-and-watch-them-sprout-windowsill.html.
🌱More From Our Staff Gardening Series:
Mary Ellen Eicholtz has been outsmarting the deer, rabbits, and groundhogs in her area by placing her potted tomato and pepper plants on her front porch!🍅
Those creatures will have to look elsewhere for some food this spring!
Second up on our garden series is Trey Koch and Alexa Fawcett!
Trey and Alexa picked up some scallions from the grocery store when the scallions were only as tall as their white roots. They put them in a glass of water, and they've shot up since then!
Our staff has been working remotely, and we have been doing our fair share of gardening!🌷
Each staff member has chosen a different gardening technique, and we will be highlighting each of our creations over the weeks to come!
First up is agency owner, John Koch, and his wonderful wife, Joanne Koch! John and Joanne chose to use recycled egg cartons and plastic cups to plant their seeds.🌱
They've been keeping their sprouting plants next to the window for lots of sunlight as they grow!☀️
We love this resourceful method!
