Our Wednesday night JMTA Green players were locked in and focused on developing their games last night. We applaud them on their ability to compete in long rallies - using the whole court to their advantage. We love to see this kind of enthusiasm and hard work on the court at such a young age! 👍🏻
A look in on some action from Week 2 of the JMTA season. The BNP Paribas MAC 1 athletes and JMTP Scholarship players featured here were working hard to find ways to overcome the challenges presented to them at “It’s A Tough Day at JMTA.” Great work, effort, and focus to everyone on court! Keep grinding 💪🏻
Today we commemorate those who were lost on 9/11/2001 and celebrate New York's resilience. It is truly what makes New York the "Greatest City in the World".

Most of you know charismatic Ted, Sportime tennis pro, artist, and friend to many. But maybe not all of you know that Ted was in a terrible accident on August 13th, 2020. He was hit by an out-of-control truck while in his car at a red light. Right now he is in stable condition at Westchester Medical Center but definitely could use a lot of support. See link in the bio for the GoFundMe effort. Go Ted-you got this!
6th Annual @jmtpny Pro-Am at @sportimeamagansett on Saturday, August 29th. Any donations help during these challenging times! Visit jmtpny.org for more details. 😎🎾
Congratulations to Elsa Jacquemot from #TeamJeunesTalents who just won Roland-Garros Junior. John has supported her with #SurLaVoixDesChampion https://youtu.be/9e07vTnabu0

JMTA and SPORTIME would like to wish all our players, coaches, and staff members a very Happy Thanksgiving! We can’t wait to see you on court after the holiday.
This week at JMTA our Advanced Banks have been working on Change of Direction (COD). COD is a term that is used when discussing a redirection of the ball when hitting a forehand or backhand. Knowing when to change directions is critically important to developing groundstroke tactics. The more routine COD happens when a player receives a down the line shot and redirects it cross court. The other COD, arguably the most difficult exchange in tennis, happens when when a player receives a cross court shot and redirects it down the line. Knowing when COD makes tactical sense, and knowing when it is a percentage play based on your game, is key to effective baseline play. Our JMTA Advanced Bank are working extremely hard on mastering this skill 💪🏻
A special shout out goes to two JMTA players @akarman.10s and @emilgrantcharov who competed against each other in the finals of the L4 New Eastern Sectional in Glencove this past weekend! We hate to see any of our JMTA players lose, but if they are going to we hope it is against one of our own. To make it to the finals Emil had to fight his way past 2 Blue Chip Recruits and 2 Five Star Recruits. In the final, number 1 seeded, Alex was able to take care of business and stop Emil’s fantastic run. Amazing playing this weekend gentleman! Keep up the great work and thankyou for making all of us here at JMTA proud.
Another great weekend of Tournament Results from the JMTA team. Congrats to everyone who went out on the courts this weekend to compete. We are so proud of the work all of you put on the courts day in and day out. Keep up the fantastic work. 💪🏻

If you have any questions please send us a DM or reach out to Andy Weiman at awegman@sportimeny.com
This week at JMTA our Developmental Banks are working on Approach Shots and Passing Shots. Approaching the net, and winning points there, has become more difficult than in the past. This week our players have been working tirelessly on the technical aspect of Approach Shots, but more importantly on the tactical issue of recognizing the right time to come to net. Look to see JMTA players winning a high percentage of points at the net in the future.

This was @tennis_ace_zizou ‘s first National L2 tournament. His coach, and SPORTIME RI And JMTA GM, Michael Ward said: “We are proud of Zizou for continuing to work hard on and off the court. Our Developmental Banks were hard at work working on Absorbing and Redirecting Pace this week. As the ball in today’s game travels faster than ever, due to racket construction, string technology and bigger, stronger, more powerful athletes, Absorbing and Redirecting Pace are now two of the most important skills to master. . . . . . #tennis #tennisplayer #sports #teamjmta #greendot #nextgen #tennislife #sportime #winnerwinnerchickendinner #top10 #champion #mcenroe
