Dr. Michael Tucker is a general internist with special interests in general internal medicine, diabetes management and medical education. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of South Carolina Honors college, graduating in 2009 with a BS in Exercise Science. He then went to medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina, during which time he was invited to join the AOA Honors Medical Society.
After graduating in 2014, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. During his residency, Dr. Tucker was awarded the Bryant Kendrick Award in May 2017, recognizing a resident for excellence in primary care internal medicine. Upon completing residency, Dr. Tucker stayed an additional year at Wake Forest as a chief resident and clinical instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine. He then moved back to Charleston to pursue a career in general internal medicine. He is board certified and is currently an assistant professor of internal medicine at MUSC.
