Jonathan A. Herbst, MD is a friendly and down-to-earth internist treating his patients in Port Chester and Rye Brook, New York since 1985.
Dr. Jonathan Herbst is passionate about solving complex cases and improving his patients’ overall quality of life. He loves getting to know his patients, which helps him understand their lifestyle, health goals, and form lasting personal relationships with them.
Born in the Bronx and raised in Port Chester, Dr. Herbst graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Virginia as an undergraduate. He then attended Medical College of Virginia, now known as Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, to receive his medical education and completed a residency at New Rochelle Hospital. While in training, he focused on internal medicine, specifically diabetes, general wellness, high cholesterol, depression, back pain, and asthma. Dr. Herbst practices preventative medicine, believing it is easier and more effective to prevent disease than to cure it.
Dr. Herbst is an integral part of the Port Chester/Rye Brook community. Dr. Herbst also serves in a volunteer capacity for the local police, is a former Army Medical Corps Captain, has been the local school physician, and a devout US patriot. He also has a hobby of biblical archaeology.
