Dr. Cortes was inspired to become a chiropractor after being successfully treated by one for a serious sports injury. A nationally ranked bodybuilder at the time, he sustained an injury during training that sent pains down his legs anytime he moved his lower back. A local chiropractor was able to stop these pains help him recover from this injury using natural practices, and Dr. Cortes wanted to be able to do the same for others.
Dr. Cortes enrolled in the chiropractic medical program at Life University in Atlanta, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. While at Life University, Dr. Cortes specializes in the Gonstead Technique, becoming a leading instructor of the school’s Gonstead Club and founding its Gonstead Mentorship Program. Today, Dr. Cortes holds a Gonstead Student Certification and is a Gonstead Diplomate.
After completing his doctoral degree, Dr. Cortes has continued to advance his knowledge through specialized certificate programs. He holds a Basic Extremity Certificate, which lets him perform advanced chiropractic extremity adjustments. He is also pursuing certificates in Chiropractic BioPhysics and Wellness.
