J. Fernando Triana, MD, FACC is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology. He is a co-founder of the groundbreaking Cardio-Hospitalist Program at Methodist Hospital and the driving force behind a number of other important innovations.
Dr. Triana received his medical degree from Javeriana University in Bogota, Columbia, and completed his residency and served as Chief Resident at Tulane University Affiliated Hospitals in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed his fellowships in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and then took an academic appointment with the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where he was a director of the cardiac cath lab and international cardiology program.
Later, he joined Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio and has held a number of key administrative positions with the practice. Dr. Triana currently serves as the Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer.
Dr. Triana is a fellow of the American College of Cardiologists and a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association and Bexar County Medical Society. He also serves as the Strategic Advisor for Methodist Healthcare Cardiovascular Services.
