Finca La Victoria sits nestled in the quiet pine forests of Dipilto, Nicaragua—a community widely known for producing some of the best coffees in the country. Year after year, the Lovo family works with their dedicated staff to refine their systems, from farm health to fermentation techniques, pushing to increase the quality of their production. This year’s efforts have resulted in a sweet and approachable profile with notes of pecan, vanilla, and red apple.

This exceptional natural sundried coffee comes from 35 producers in the small village of Okolu in East Guji, Ethiopia. Since 2018, Dambi Udo Agro Industry, a family-owned coffee business, has worked closely with producers in the region to improve quality through meticulously sorting, drying, and centralized processing of coffee. We hope you enjoy this coffee’s intrinsic flavors of blueberry, blood orange, and milk chocolate.
Outdoor seatings pretty neat when you have celebs like @mammamiathelab hanging out for an iced latte! 🍁🐶☕️
New from the J2 Baked Goods Program (Go, Samantha!!! 💯) is the SPICED HONEY COOKIE. It’s freaking delicious and kiddo-approved.
J1 remodel coming soon!
•
10 years ago we opened the doors and introduced something new to North Raleigh. A year ago we were forced to pivot into a different experience but we decided to continue to allow a growth mindset to move us along.
•
While we get ready to begin construction for J3 at @visitnorthhills we couldn’t be more excited to remodel our original store, J1, at @lafayettevillage.
•
Working with @arrowhead we redesigned the space to have better customer flow while adding more inside seating, and creating better bar management for the team to get through those busy weekend days. We also introduced the birch and walnut elements we love from our store on Hillsborough St. We think it came out great!
•
While we plan to be closed inside for a couple of months, we will still be offering a coffee and food program on our front patio; breakfast burritos anyone!?
•
Follow our stories and highlights as we track our buildout and construction journeys and celebrate 10 years of business with a fresh new look. Hope you can enjoy very soon!
Spring is here, and we’ve got some 70° weather rolling in this week! So just for you we’ve got the most floral drink we’ve ever made:
JASMINE ORANGE BLOSSOM LATTE
This drink has got a house-made blend of jasmine, rose, and orange blossom with espresso and your choice of milk. Get it hot or iced, it’s great either way.

I've always considered loyalty one of our strengths. We value trust and relationships and we believe that we need the ability to lean on others to help get us through life. The last 12 months is a huge testament to that. Jubala's story is layered with loyal relationships. One of those relationships has been Counter Culture Coffee, a company we consider pioneers in the specialty coffee industry. Our journey started twenty years ago in 2001 when we inquisitively visited a coffee farm in Kenya, Africa. While signing the guest book at a Kongocho washing mill, I noticed a name a few lines above me from Durham, NC, a coffee buyer for Counter Culture Coffee. This was our first introduction. A few years later, when I knew I wanted to start a coffee company, I gave them a call and began to build a relationship that would greatly impact our success.
•
When Jubala opened in 2011 we had a staff of 5. One of those individuals was Kyle Ramage. Our customer support rep for Counter Culture Coffee was Lem Butler. Lem, Kyle, and I tasted a lot of coffee together, we competed in barista competitions together (they did wildly better), and we challenged each other (a lot). In 2017, after winning back to back US Barista Championships, Lem and Kyle started Black and White Coffee Roasters out of Wake Forest, NC.
•
Fast Forward to 2021, and starting today, Lem and Kyle’s coffee is finally on bar. Wow! If you haven’t had coffee from @blackwhiteroasters you’re in for a big treat and we couldn’t be more excited. As we move forward towards roasting our own later this year out of North Hills, we couldn’t think of a better partner to show us the world of roasting, our friends @kyle_rampage and @lembutler.
•
With that said, come join us for Free Espresso Friday. We have a very nice coffee on bar. Follow our stories for more and a post later about the impact @counterculturecoffee has had on not just us but the entire specialty coffee industry. We’re grateful and still loyal to that friendship.

We’ve got two new baked goods for you.
The Pistachio Citrus Cake and the Matcha Pound Cake are some top tier creations from @heysamanthajay! Come try them this week along with your favorite coffee beverage!
🍋 SPRING MENU 🍋
Y’all showed up for our lemonade drinks last year! So by popular demand we’re bringing back the Sparkling Rose Cardamom Lemonade!
ALSO. For all the coffee lemonade fans, you can totally upgrade this to a coffee lemonade. Just check the box when you order online or let us know when you order in person.
This drink is gonna be J2-only for Spring, but don’t worry J1 folks! It’s headed your way this summer. And stay tuned, because we’ve got some other exciting North Raleigh news coming soon 🎉
I’ve been doing this long enough to know that Jubala is only as good as the people behind the bar (or camera). Our hope is that we can offer a space that allows everyone to grow. To grow as a barista, a leader, a graduate student, or just as a person who needs a place to figure out life and learn a new city. There aren’t many things more exciting than watching our team chase their dreams even if it means leaving our team and joining another.
After several years at Jubala, we’re happy to see our Creative Director, Owen @owenscottjordan, join @leadershiptriangle as their Strategic Engagement and Content Director and Grace @foxxyg join our friends at @mainlandcreative as a project manager after finishing her masters from NCSU.
Thanks for giving us your best, I’m certainly a better person for knowing both of you and will continue to cheer you on.
