Justin G. Steele, MD, general surgeon, is the director of robotic abdominal wall reconstruction at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and an assistant
professor of clinical surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Steele performs general, laparoscopic, and robotic surgical procedures, and has more than 10 years of experience in his field. He specializes in performing transversus abdominis muscle release (TAR) to treat and repair complex abdominal hernias. He treats patients for gallbladder, inguinal hernia, incisional hernia, ventral hernia, hiatal hernia, and gastroesophageal reflux. He has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for the last three years and is a board-certified surgeon. After earning his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Dr. Steele completed his internship and residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
