❗❗❗UPDATE❗❗❗
We have been a bit overwhelmed with life lately and just learned that this sad story from 2017 is making the rounds of sharing again.
Zeus was found and reunited with the murder victim's parents.
⛔ September 2020
Please burn this dog's face and markings into your brain. His human was violently murdered. The murder suspect drove the victim's truck from Kansas to Southern CA, and it's unknown/unverified if Zeus, the victim's male Australian Shepherd, was taken and/or with him all or part of the way. Murder suspect was apprehended and arrested in Nor Cal without Zeus. Please, please share and tell us where you're posting from. Please post this on your wall. If Zeus is alive, we wish to recover him and get him home to the family of his now deceased owner. Thank you.

***EDIT***
We had no idea this post would reach so many people. Had we known, we would have provided a much more thorough explanation. A few updates:
- At-home grooming is dangerous for ALL dog breeds, not just doodles. We are a doodle rescue and we were speaking to our followers.
- Do not use scissors, clippers, or anything sharp on your dogs. This incident was due to scissors, and it's something we see far too often, hence our original caption.
- We work daily with families who seek to surrender and have worked very closely with Ellie’s family to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Hurtful comments will not undo what happened and only deter families from seeking rescue help in the future. We are NOT excusing the actions of the family, but the focus of this post is to educate.
PLEASE leave grooming to the PROFESSIONALS!
We are a small volunteer-run, donation-funded doodle rescue on a mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome poodle mixes in need. We appreciate all of the support and hope Ellie Mae's story will help bring awareness and prevent this horrific situation from ever happening again! 💖

Meet Ellie Mae – our newest foster pup who suffered extensive injures after an at-home groom went TERRIBLY wrong. Before we go further, we wanted to share that her family was considering rehoming PRIOR to this accident (we know many will inquire about keeping Ellie with her family). Additionally, we ask you to please refrain from negative comments. Ellie Mae's family acknowledges their mistake and they feel horribly about her injuries. What's important is Ellie's health and educating the community so this doesn't happen again.
Ellie Mae is a 2.5-year-old Goldendoodle who suffered severe injuries when her family attempted to cut her painful mats with scissors. Ellie Mae's Achilles tendon was fully lacerated in two places and her family rushed her to the ER where they attempted to repair both lacerations. Ellie Mae's family contacted us and we took her in without hesitation and rushed her to our Veterinarian for evaluation. It was confirmed that the previous repair surgery was unsuccessful and that she had developed a severe infection which required hydrotherapy and oral antibiotics. Due to the severity and location of both lacerations, the failed attempt to repair, and the severe infection, our vet decided that amputating her leg was the best decision. She was hospitalized for a few days, had a successful amputation surgery, and is now safe and sound in her loving foster home. Ellie Mae's amputation is another tough expense after all of the extensive medical cases we've had the past few months. We continue to say yes because their lives are worth it. ❤️
⚠️PSA⚠️ NEVER USE SCISSORS on your doodles, especially if your pup's fur is matted to the skin. Matting is not only extremely painful and can result in skin sores, infections, etc., but it's also very difficult to cut properly and must be handled by a professional. If you are interested in the doodle breed, PLEASE do your research and ensure you are fully prepared for frequent brushing and frequent (and costly) professional grooming. If you have any questions, feel free to PM us. This could have been prevented, and we want to make sure no other pup has to go through this. ❤️

I had to repost this 🙏
Thursday night, I was sitting in my garage smoking a cigarette. Horrible habit, I know. 4 young men rushed me, decided they wanted my car, beat me up, and wanted my keys. I told them the keys were in the house. They decided to go in. What they weren’t expecting were my 2 80lb Pit Bulls. They are sweethearts and the kindest dogs you’ll ever know, but protect their home and owner with finesse. My beautiful babies charged these assholes and stood over me as I laid on the floor of my garage, forever protecting me. They are rescues. Unwanted dogs. They saved my life. Please consider adopting a rescue. They might save your life too.

A man finds a goose that was shaking with cold stuck to a pole in Montana. As he got closer he realized, wrapped up in her wings, was a tiny puppy she was shielding from the freezing temperatures. We have so much to learn from the animals. Beautiful. (Both the goose and the puppy have recovered, were adopted together, and are doing well.) ❤️

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.
He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.
After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.
When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold. He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side.
When he was close enough, he called out, 'Excuse me, where are we?'
'This is Heaven, sir,' the man answered.
Would you happen to have some water?' the man asked.
Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up'.The man gestured, and the gate began to open.
'Can my friend,' gesturing toward his dog, 'come in, too?' the traveller asked.
'I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets.'
The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog.
After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book.
'Excuse me!' he called to the man. 'Do you have any water?'
'Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in..'
'How about my friend here?' the traveller gestured to the dog.
There should be a bowl by the pump.'
They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it. The traveller filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.
When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree.
'What do you call this place?' the traveller asked.
This is Heaven,' he answered.
'Well, that's confusing,' the traveller said. 'The man down the road said that was Heaven, too.'
'Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's hell.'
'Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?'
'No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind.'

Hi Mom,
Now that I’ve been across The Rainbow Bridge for a couple weeks, they said I should write a letter home.
Sorry, Mom but I’m so busy ‘across the bridge’ that I haven’t thought of home much. They said it’s okay and that you would understand. I hope you do. (I think you will.)
Remember that night when I wasn’t feeling very well and we were all crying?
I don’t remember much, but I do remember seeing and hearing all of you and feeling your touches and hugs…I remember hearing “we love you” and that one last command of “Go through”.
I didn’t know what you meant, so I turned around and walked through the fog that was in front of me.
I saw the biggest bridge I’ve ever seen! And so many friends on the other side of it!
They were all playing with toys and balls!
You were right to tell me to go there!
My feet kept moving forward, but my heart kept pulling me back.
Your touches became lighter and lighter and I wanted to come back and nudge your hands for more love, but I was overcome by this feeling of curiosity for the happy place over the bridge!
My feet started moving on their own, like a gentle breeze was moving them forward for me!
I can’t explain it, but I had no doubt that it was the right thing to do!
So, I walked across that big, huge bridge by myself!
I looked for you, because you’re always by my side, walking with me, but this was different.
I didn’t have a collar around my neck or a leash connecting me to you ~ I was ‘free’!
Even though you weren’t there with me, I never felt alone!
I actually felt like I had a huge cape of love wrapped around my body and the more I walked, the easier it was to breathe!
So, I kept walking!
And I would feel more warmth in the big hug, so I kept on walking!
I eventually made it over the big bridge – I did it by myself, mom. When I got here, all of my new friends greeted me and helped me walk off the bridge ~ it was so cool!
They gave me a pair of wings and said that I was now a Guardian Angel!
What I’ve learned over these past few weeks has been amazing and nothing like I’ve seen before!
We’re all the same up here ~ we all have wings and we all have Forever People to watch over ~ that’s YOU, mom !
You’re my Forever Person and I’m your Forever Dog!
We had such a great life together and I do miss you a LOT, but please know that I am so happy in my new home across The Bridge!
I’ll send you another Earth Angel so you won’t be alone.
Give them your whole heart, like you gave it to me.
I’ll check in every so often to make sure they treasure your love ~ I always did!
When you miss me, think of a rainbow and know I’m on the other side of it, waiting to walk with you again.
I’ll always be in your heart.
I love you, mom!
Time for me to go play.”

***UPDATE*** REUNITED!! Milo is home safe & sound after 9 hours, 41 minutes :)
Please spread the word! Milo was LOST on December 24, 2020 in Stevens Point, WI 54481 near Johnson Drive, DuBay Avenue. Last seen crossing Dubay Avenue towards Stevens Point
Message from Owner: We are hoping for the best Christmas present of all...to be reunited with Milo. He decided to wander away after we took our eyes off of him for 1 minute too long on a bathroom break. It’s cold and although he has a lot of fur, he is not an outside dog. Please reach out if you see him. He is wandering the many wooded acres in between north point drive and DuBay Ave.
Description: Tri-color Corgi. Very friendly, he’s recently taken to wandering.
