🌊💦Tonight’s #travelmemory takes us to Maui’s Kā‘anapali Beach to go outrigger canoe paddling. It’s the official team sport in Hawaii.
Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel has a six-person canoe that visitors can go out on and learn how to paddle. It looks a bit intimidating at first, but I was pretty amazed at how quickly my group got the hang of it. The view from the water, is good inspiration to learn something new.🌞

Did you know that the Naupaka plant that grows near the ocean (Naupaka Kahakai) has a blossom that resembles half a flower with the petals facing downward? Well, there is another variety that grows in the mountains (Naupaka Kauihiwa) with blossom that grows with its petals facing upwards. When placed together they form a perfect flower. 🌼
If you have joined us for our garden walk cultural activity, you may have heard that there is a wonderful legend that accompanies these two varieties about two lovers separated for eternity.
