For more than a decade, he has served as the medical director at the Kamen Eye Surgery and Medical Center, using the most advanced techniques to help patients achieve optimal outcomes.
Dr. Kamen is committed to providing personalized care and individual attention to each patient who visits the Kamen Eye Surgery and Medical Center for care and treatment. His advanced skills and expertise combined have earned him the respect of his peers and enabled him to provide the broadest array of eye and vision services and procedures, including eye exams and treatments for patients with all types of vision issues including diabetes, glaucoma and macular degeneration; management of dry eye syndrome; advanced surgery for cataracts, glaucoma and other eye diseases and conditions; eyelid surgery, emergency care and more.
Dr. Kamen received his undergraduate degree at Brooklyn College in New York, graduating in the top of his class and receiving a full scholarship to the State University of New York (SUNY), Downstate Medical Center, where he received his M.D. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Staten Island University Hospital and his residency in ophthalmology at SUNY, followed by a fellowship in anterior segment surgery at Beraja Medical Institute in Coral Gables, Fla., performing nearly four dozen surgeries each day.
In 2004-2005, Dr. Kamen was named America’s Top Ophthalmologist in the area of cataract surgery by the Consumers Research Council of America. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Kamen performs surgeries as a member of the medical staff of the Olympia Medical Center and the Memorial Hospital of Gardena. In addition to English, Dr. Kamen also speaks Spanish and Farsi.
