Karen Heller was born in New York City and raised in Westchester County. She received her B.A. from St. Lawrence University, and an M.A. in Science, Health, and Environmental Journalism from New York University. She worked as a print journalist for 15 years for New York area publications including the Bergen Record, Newsday, and Scholastic News for children before beginning a successful career in real estate.
